Stephanie Bethel

In 2018 Stephanie received her bachelor’s in social work and a minor in psychology from Southern Illinois University. Stephanie was accepted and completed the Social Work Advanced Standing Master’s program with an emphasis in Health and Mental Health at Southern Illinois University in 2019. That same year Stephanie completed the Trauma Focused Behavioral Health Fellowship through Southern Illinois University’s School of Medicine. Through the fellowship Stephanie worked with an interdisciplinary team integrating both primary and behavioral health care using current research on trauma informed practices and graduated with over 120 hours of training. Upon completion, Stephanie worked at a federally qualified health facility where she primarily worked with individuals who had experience various levels of trauma with the aim to improve the mental health of patients. From there Stephanie went on to work as a mental health counselor in private practice eventually making the move to work to two full time positions in hospice as a social worker and bereavement counselor.

At the heart of our existence lies our intrinsic worth, from which everything else originates. Trauma can unfortunately tarnish this sense of self-worth, value, and belonging. Stephanie firmly believes that everyone is deserving of being heard and experiencing healing from past traumas. Realizing your worth and discovering your true potential in life is where joy truly lies. Stephanie connects with her patients on a deep level, empathizing with them and meeting them wherever they may be in their healing journey.
