Peggy Garrett

Peggy Garrett brings a wealth of experience and a client-centered approach to her counseling practice. With expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing, she tailors her approach to meet the unique needs of each individual.

For 24 years, Peggy worked at the Illinois Youth Center in Harrisburg, Illinois, where she provided individual and group therapy for adolescents aged 13–20. She supported teens facing significant behavioral and mental health challenges, addressing diagnoses such as Conduct Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Major Depression, PTSD, Mood Disorders, and Unspecified Bipolar Disorders.

Specializing in PTSD, Peggy is comfortable working with clients facing a wide range of mental health concerns. Her skills include conducting mental health assessments, crisis intervention, developing treatment plans, making referrals for psychiatric care, and performing peer reviews.

In addition to her in-person experience, Peggy has provided teletherapy services through the BetterHelp platform for three years. She has worked with clients of all ages and genders, offering individual and couples therapy and helping clients navigate their healing journeys.

Known for her patience and nonjudgmental approach, Peggy meets clients where they are and respects their pace in addressing concerns. She is passionate about helping individuals become the best version of themselves and is excited to support new clients in their journey toward healing and growth.
