Nutrition Services

At Integrated Health, we prioritize nutrition as it is vital for maintaining health across a persons lifetime. Adopting healthy eating habits not only promotes longevity but also lowers the risk of major health issues such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and obesity. For individuals managing chronic diseases, a nutritious diet can effectively support condition management and prevent complications. If your doctor advised seeking guidance for healthy eating or dietary modifications, consulting with a Functional Nutritionist provides personalized advice and lifestyle adjustments that positively impact your well-being.

Our Functional Nutrition & Health Educator Amy Kinzie specializes in identifying eating habits and patterns, addressing food or nutrient-related queries, and equipping you with tailored knowledge and skills to optimize your dietary decisions.

What to expect during your appointment with Amy: The initial session, whether in-person or via telehealth, lasts approximately 1 hour. Amy will inquire about your background and the reason for seeking her assistance, such as weight management, food allergies, digestive issues, or conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and thyroid disorders. She has experience with mold-related problems, Covid Long Hauler Syndrome, Chronic Fatigue, and autoimmune diseases, often unraveling underlying causes through comprehensive assessments utilizing labs, at-home testing kits, and your health history.

Key takeaways from your first visit: Amy will craft a personalized nutrition plan based on your goals, cultural background, and dietary preferences, incorporating information gathered from your history, habits, and preferences. You’ll receive custom emails containing resources like portion size guidance, sample meal plans, healthy recipes, recommended supplements, and more. Don’t hesitate to ask questions or share concerns during your session.

Follow-up appointments: Expect a follow-up session as dietary and lifestyle changes require time and effort. These appointments typically last 30 minutes and involve tracking progress, adjusting the nutrition plan, providing additional tips and resources, and discussing further steps. Amy will determine the frequency and number of follow-ups based on your progress and needs, ensuring ongoing support and guidance.

We call her the Health Detective

My goal is to forge a partnership with each client that empowers them to take responsibility for their health. I employ a variety of methods such as, functional analysis of blood and lab results, metabolic typing, Nutritional Reflex Technique muscle testing, nutrigenomic/nutritional therapy, and homeopathy.

Amy Kinzie is a Functional Nutrition & Health Educator for Integrated Health. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with her B.S. in Biomedical Science and Clinical Nutrition from the National University of Health Sciences. She has worked as a naturopathic practitioner and health educator at various clinics in the Chicagoland area. She completed her internship with functional blood chemistry analysis and metabolic nutrition with Jim Marlowe, a chief nutritionist from the Mercola Clinic.

Amy specializes in nutritional solutions for adults and children with complex chronic illnesses, including allergies, auto-immune disease, cancer, hormone balance, Lyme disease, migraine headaches, mold illness, and food sensitivities.

The inspiration for the work she has chosen comes from her health journey. “At the age of 19, I became very ill with a rare auto-immune disease that shut down my digestive system. I also developed asthma, migraines, muscle wasting, and lost the ability to eat solid foods. At a young age, I learned that conventional medicine had very little to offer in the way of helping someone truly heal. If I wanted to truly heal, I knew I needed to find the right teachers and take responsibility for my health.”

After working with a nutritionist who introduced her to the benefits of ancestral foods and a chiropractor who developed a homeopathy system, Amy’s health started to improve.

Amy had gone back to study nutrition in a traditional university setting and then was fortunate enough to train with some of the same doctors who had helped her heal. She now implements those same methods to help others find freedom from chronic illness.

She believes the reason for illness, weight problems, and mood disorders is too many toxins (whether they are viral, bacterial, emotional, or environmental) and not enough nutrients or the proper form of the nutrients. “The body always wants to be healthy and is always striving toward health. My goal is to help clients to unlock their inner doctor, or rather the innate healing capacity that lies within each of us.”
